The same goes for ladies β€” wear something simple and avoid short skirts or skimpy tops. Dress the way you want to be addressed.

Punctuality:
Make sure you arrive early at the interview location, at least 30 minutes before the interview. If possible, take out time to know the venue ahead of time so you can know exactly where you are going and how long it will take to get there.

Documents:
Make sure you go along with original copies of your resume and credentials. You may be asked to present your credentials for sighting. Also include a pen and paper for note taking.

Research:
Research thoroughly about the intending company. For instance If you are applying for a job at a public company, then check out the financial statements and history of the company.
Get to know someone on the inside. Employees can give you an idea of what β€œa day in the life” is like. Talk to someone in the department you are likely to be posted..

Expression and Composure:
Use proper English and avoid using slangs in a job interview. As you are introduced to the interviewers, shake their hands firmly, look them in the eyes, and say that you are pleased to meet them. Answer questions in a confident manner and do not mumble or rush or be too hesitant.

Smokers are advised to stop smoking when looking for a job. It is almost impossible to hide the smell of smoke on clothing or when breathing.
More so, avoid jewelry except your wedding band or ring and a moderately priced watch. Make sure your mobile devices are switched off before the interview to avoid distractions.
