Former employees of Wirecard (an insolvent payment processing company in Germany) reportedly told police that staff repeatedly removed large amounts of cash from the company's premises.
According to Financial Times Report, the employees hauled millions of euros of cash out of the company’s Munich headquarters in plastic shopping bags over a period of years..
The report suggests that the payment processing company was looted even more brazenly than previously known.
In 2020, the company's CEO and some board members were arrested after €1.9 billion of corporate cash was discovered missing and about €3.2 billion was being owed in debt.
